Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the NordCalAI mobile app and the nordcal.se website. By using either, you agree to them.

1. Who we are

"NordCalAI", "we", "us", or "our" refers to the operator of the NordCalAI app, contactable at support@nordcal.se. We are based in Sweden.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are between 13 and 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for any activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has access to your account.

NordCalAI is a tracking tool, not medical advice. The calorie targets, macro recommendations, and AI-generated nutrition estimates are approximations based on standard formulas (Mifflin-St Jeor) and public food databases. They are not a substitute for professional medical, dietary, or psychological advice.

Do not use NordCalAI as your sole source of nutrition guidance if you have an eating disorder, are pregnant, are managing a chronic condition (e.g. diabetes, kidney disease), or are recovering from surgery. Talk to a qualified clinician.

AI-generated meal identification and portion estimates can be wrong. Always sanity-check critical logs, especially for foods that affect medical conditions.

7. AI accuracy

The photo-recognition feature uses third-party AI models. These models occasionally misidentify foods, miscount portions, or hallucinate ingredients. We work to improve accuracy but cannot guarantee any specific level of correctness. You can always edit any logged meal manually.

8. Your content

You retain all rights to the photos, meals, and notes you create in the app. You grant us a limited license to store and process them solely so we can deliver the service to you. We do not use your content to train AI models.

9. Service changes and availability

We may add, modify, or remove features at any time. We aim for high uptime but make no guarantee that the service will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted. Scheduled maintenance and outages can happen.

10. Termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that present a security risk.

11. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NordCalAI is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data, health outcomes, or weight changes. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable consumer protection law (this includes Swedish and EU consumer rights).

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes go to Swedish courts unless EU consumer protection rules grant you the right to file in your home country — which they may, and we won't argue.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app and via the "Last updated" date. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.
